The Great Vigil of Easter

Join us Saturday evening as we celebrate the Triumph of Light during the Utica-Rome District Easter Vigil Service. The service begins with the lighting of the Pascal Candle in Zion’s courtyard, then processes by candlelight into the sanctuary for baptisms and the celebration of Christ’s resurrection.

Clinton Symphony Orchestra Piano Recital

Clinton Symphony Orchestra, in collaboration with Zion Church, will host a solo Piano Recital featuring internationally renowned pianist Elayne Laussade. The program, titled “Fantasies and Dreams ,“ will feature works by Mozart, Shubert, Bach, Greenbaum, Faure, Liszt, and Verdi. A meet the artist reception will follow the program.

Rome Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours

The Rome Area Chamber of Commerce will host a Business After Hours reception on Thursday, Jan. 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. to help kick off the yearlong celebration of Zion Church’s 200th anniversary as a parish in Rome, NY. Chimo’s will cater the event, which will include light refreshments, a church tour, and displays that highlight significant moments in Zion’s history. The program will also describe numerous events planned during 2025 that reflect Zion’s rich history and continued service to the Rome community that has supported the parish since its founding on Aug. 16, 1825. Christmas Candlelight Service

First Presbyterian Church of Rome's annual musical celebration of Advent will take place in Zion Episcopal Church's beautiful sanctuary (140 W. Liberty St.) on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 4PM. The service will feature Adult and Youth Tone Chimes Choirs, as well as a 30-voice Senior Choir. The Christmas cantata "A Night for Rejoicing", directed by Kimberly Nethaway and accompanied by organist/pianist Tina Toglia, will be the centerpiece of the afternoon.
