Paris Hill Brass Quintet Concert

The Herbert Geller Memorial Scholarship Concerts presents the Paris Hill Brass Quintet at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Zion Episcopal Church, 140 West Liberty St. This event is part of a concert series celebrating the legacy of Herb Geller, a beloved former band director at Rome Free Academy and Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School. Members of the Paris Hill Brass Quintet are Brian Picente, Henry Lotyczewski, Robert Verkuyl, Richard China, and Dana Jerrard.

The Herbert Geller Memorial Scholarship Concerts was established to honor the memory and contributions of Herb Geller by presenting concerts and raising scholarship funds for high school seniors pursuing music majors in college. The organization continues Herb's passion for music education and performance through community engagement and support for young musicians. All concerts are free and open to the public, with donations accepted to support the scholarship fund. To date, the fund has awarded nearly $10,000 in scholarships to students from RFA and VVS who graduated in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 and are pursuing music degrees in college.
